Applications for SAGES Endorsement of Your Course or Institution
As a service to members, SAGES offers Course and Program Directors the opportunity to have their courses reviewed and endorsed by the Continuing Education Committee. Endorsement brings the following benefits to Course Directors...
- Courses will be listed on the SAGES Web Site (~1000 page views/month).
- Courses will be included in SCOPE, the SAGES bi-annual newsletter.
- SAGES Endorsed Course list will be mailed or faxed to interested surgeons upon request (average of 10-25 requests per month).
- The Course Director may include the SAGES Endorsement Statement on promotional brochures and course materials.
SAGES has two applications for course endorsement: individual course endorsement and institutional course endorsement. Applications may be sent from the office or downloaded here in Adobe Acrobat format. If you run a laparoscopic colon course, there is an application for joint SAGES/ASCRS endorsement also available on this page.
Individual course endorsement is appropriate for a course that will be offered one time. Individual endorsement is also appropriate if the exact same course is to be offered multiple times, provided that the faculty, course content, and objectives are the same, and that the dates are known at the time of application.
The fee for individual course endorsement is $100.
Institutional course endorsement is appropriate when multiple courses are offered at the same institution. Institutional applications do not need to include course dates at the time of application.
The fee for institutional course endorsement is $500.
As an additional service to their members, SAGES and ASCRS offers Course and Program Directors the opportunity to have their lap colon courses reviewed and endorsed. Endorsement by SAGES and ASCRS brings the following benefits to Course Directors...
- Courses will be listed on both the SAGES and the ASCRS Websites.
- Courses will be included in SCOPE, SAGES bi-annual newsletter and ASCRS News, ASCRS’s bi-annual newsletter.
- The Course Director may include the Joint SAGES and ASCRS Endorsement Statement on promotional brochures and course materials.
- We will provide a certificate of completion for the Course Director to distribute to attendees of the advanced course.
SAGES and ASCRS have partnered to create these Guidelines for Laparoscopic Colectomy Course. Each application will cover all courses presented by the Course Director during a one-year period, from the date the application was approved.
The fee for endorsement is $750.
